It seems that Disney has found another way to reinvent the wheel. Following the success of the live-action "Maleficent" (2014), "Cinderella" (2015), and "Jungle Book" (2016), the studio is moving forward with a slew of new live action films. Such include the highly anticipated "Beauty and the Beast" arriving in March next year, "Mulan," in 2018, "Lion King" and "Aladdin," both of which do not have release dates set as of now.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest in the live action projects for Disney is "Snow White." The studio is currently negotiating with Erin Cressida Wilson, who wrote the film adaptation of "The Girl on the Train" to write the script. She will be joined by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who worked on "La La Land." "Mary Poppins Returns" Marc Platt is also set to produce the film.
The big question now is, who will play the princess in the live action "Snow White?" Here are five actresses who could play the princess in the highly anticipated film. Top of mind is Emma Stone, whose singing and acting chops are already front and center in "La La Land." She seems to have skin as white as snow already, and we all know how gorgeous she is regardless of the color of her hair. She can easily pass for a raven-haired beauty.
The Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke, would be a great lead star in "Snow White." Her stint on "Game of Thrones" has earned her praise and she has appeared in several other movies as well and it isn't difficult to imagine her as a Disney princess. Another actress who can play the role perfectly would be "2 Broke Girls" and "Thor" star, Kat Dennings. The 30-year old already looks like a real-life Snow White that could play the princess in the live action film adaptation.
"Percy Jackson" star Alexandra Daddario, whose last acting credits include "American Horror Story: Hotel," would also fit the role to a T. She's set to appear in next year's "Baywatch" and the rom-com "When We First Met." Lastly, we have singer and actress Victoria Justice, whose mixed race gives her a unique look that will perfectly suir for the "Snow White" role.
