Is “Mortal Kombat 9” coming to Steam? It's possible the franchise will return to the digital distribution system following last year's "Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection."
Some gamers were spotted playing the game via Steam’s GameGraphs, according DSOGaming. The site reports "Mortal Kombat 9" had been added to Steam’s registry along with its achievements. The site includes a graph showing the average number of people playing the game, which is seven.
“What most of you didn’t know, though, was the fact that there are already ‘players’ testing NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming PC fighting game. As we can clearly see, a small number of people has been playing Mortal Kombat 9 PC in the last couple of days,” the site adds.
This, obviously, means that both NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros are currently testing the title, and there could be an announcement (if not a release) soon.
“Mortal Kombat 9” got decent reviews when it came out in 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Hopefully a PC version will include new characters or fatalities considering how long ago the console versions came out.
