BlackBerry Latest News & Update: Has BlackBerry Just Unveiled the World’s ‘Safest’ Smartphone With its DTEK60?

After the Canadian mobile giant BlackBerry unveiled its latest smartphone last week, it boasted as being the ‘world’s safest smartphone’ every built today. But could BlackBerry stand by this claim?

Early this year, BlackBerry, which ‘used’ to be a big name in the smartphone industry after Apple and Samsung took over and eaten out its entire market share, has promised to regain its glory by announcing new upcoming models.

Just last week, October 25, the Ontario-based tech firm has unveiled its newest smartphone model, breaking the company’s tradition of physical keyboard and went into a full touchscreen.

But aside from making a statement that the company is not giving up and will fight until its last breath, BlackBerry has boasted to what they called as the ‘world’s most secured’ phone every built in today’s standard.

Although before Apple’s iPhone or Samsung S series dominated the large chunk of the smartphone market, BlackBerry used to be the leading name in mobile phones with its models used by prominent Hollywood celebrities and even U.S President Barack Obama himself.

In terms of security, the new BlackBerry DTEK60 features its proprietary security feature called the DTEK, which acts as the phone’s firewall against malicious and potentially harmful malware, the Digital Trends reported.

Once the DTEK detects a potentially harmful malware, it suggests a definitive course of action to the user to protect the phone from potential security breach. This is on top of the software based encryption technology that acts as a stringent layer of security for the device.

BlackBerry’s DTEK60 was said to be the last smartphone from the company before it handovers its hardware manufacturing arm to a third-party firm, the Express reported.

The 5.5-inch QuadHD display smartphone, which is also powered by Qualcom’s quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor with a 4GB of RAM, is sold in major retail store at $499 for a 32GB internal memory.
