Microsoft unveiled its new Surface Studio desktop PC last week, winning fans over with its sharp, super thin screen and smart design. On the other hand, Apple gave a sneak peek on its new set of MacBook Pro laptops that are largely similar to its previous designs. It appears that Apple is not winning fans over with their latest designs of MacBook Pro.
Microsoft Upstaged Apple
Even the loyal shoppers were unimpressed with Apple's latest line of MacBook Pro, which the company unveiled last week. Business Insider noted that Microsoft took center stage when it unveiled their new Surface Studio desktop PC around the same time Apple unveiled the latest MacBook Pro.
The website noted that the Microsoft Surface Studio looked like a hybrid between a desktop and a tablet, which made a lot of people excited. Meanwhile, when it was Apple's turn to show off their MacBook Pro line, reporters and loyal customers were disappointed to see the same design as the previous ones.
The only added feature on the MacBook Pro is the new touch-screen Touch Bar that serves as a Touch ID and fingerprint sensor. This left onlookers feeling underwhelmed, some even stating that the newest products from Apple -- including the iPhone 7 -- aren't worth upgrading to.

How Apple Disappoints Fans With Latest 'MacBook Pro'
Fortune also noted the striking contrast between the latest Apple MacBook Pro and the Microsoft Surface Studio. The MacBook Pro notebook line got updates while the iMac pro desktop lines remain unchanged. More so, the website noted that the updated MacBook Pro models still rely on the CPU chips from Intel.
Given the lack of innovation and update on MacBook Pro, criticisms were thrown easily at Apple. The market quickly pointed out that the laptop still used the outdated Skylake platform and not the new Kaby Lake platform.
More importantly, though, the market has criticized Apple for failing to make MacBook Pro line useful to professionals. Lastly, Apple has made its iPhone lines more valuable than its Mac business.
It appears that Apple isn't anymore about to compete in the market with its line of MacBook Pro. Rather, they seem to be stalling for time to ensure that Mac stays frozen in time, as BI puts it.
