A leaked Staples memo reveals tentative launch dates of the Samsung Galaxy S4 for carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. The document also details when Samsung's flagship smartphone will be available for pre-orders.
Staples, along with other retailers such as Walmart, will begin accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 on April 16, according to Phone Arena. While the memo confirms T-Mobile's already announced May 1 Galaxy S4 launch, it puts the tentative launch date for the AT&T version at April 26 and Verizon on May 30. "No date for Sprint's launch of the phone was indicated. Big Red is said to have the most rigorous carrier testing among the top four carriers in the U.S. which might explain the delay," the report says.
Although the document does give any details on pricing, earlier indications from AT&T point to a 16GB model priced at $199.99 with a two-year contract and a 32GB model going for $249.99 with a contract.
T-Mobile revealed its Galaxy S4 plans during its UNcarrier event a few weeks ago while AT&T remains mum on launch details for the handset. While Verizon has yet to announce its plans for the smartphone, a May 30 launch, a the Staples document seems to indicate, would be significantly later than its competitors.
