Access to the upcoming "Battlefield 4" beta was originally restricted to people who pre-ordered Danger Close's mediocre "Medal of Honor: Warfighter." That small pool of users has now been expanded to "Battlefield 3" premium users and those who pre-order "Battlefield 4" through Origin, EA's digital storefront.
The information popped up in a Reddit thread alongside an image for the announcing the expanded access to the beta. One of the thread members commented: “Once upon a time the word ‘exclusive’ had a meaning.”
“When Warfighter was announced, they said you would get exclusive beta access if you got the pre-order. Now they let BF3 Premium members and pre-orderers of BF4 into the exclusive beta. They seriously need to stop calling it exclusive.”
So far EA has sold over three million BF3 Premium subscriptions so there won’t be a shortage of “Battlefield 4” beta players. Moreover, the beta is expected to open to the general public at some point later this year most likely in early Fall.
