For fighting games like “Street Fighter V”, one thing that should spur up interest are new characters that would normally be delivered via DLCs. Capcom has been doing that in the past but there are now reports that the developer may be halting rollouts due to compromise issues.
For those playing “Street Fighter V” for the longest time, everyone knows that characters coming out are unique. Their traits differ from the other, a challenge for players who want to play against NPCs and other players.
That said, the preferred “Street Fighter V” character does not solely depend on the power or agility they carry. Some may be risky to use in battle and are one of the pointed out reasons why some characters have been left idle by players.
Eventhubs did a poll to see why players would pass on DLCs and the response was as mentioned previously. There were some apprehensive to use other “Street Fighter V” characters due to the high risk and lower chances they have mostly tied up to their attacks and combos capability.
But how do gamers figure out the strengths and weaknesses of the “Street Fighter V” characters? Thanks to special events like the Capcom Pro Tour (CPT), they get an idea of what a character is capable of and what they are not. But one thing they noticed was that DLC characters were rarely participating, according to reports.
Of course, “Street Fighter V” characters like Alien, Triborg and Predator may be more or less limited for in-game use though it doesn’t make much sense if players don’t have interest using them in special events or tournaments.
If this is the case, should Capcom continue offering new characters via the DLC route for “Street Fighter V”? If so, one thing they may want to do is tinker around with the character stats which would best cater to the appetite of gamers looking to use a reliable character that is not too powerful nor weak.
