Niantic is treating "Pokemon GO" fans this Halloween weekend to an awesome new update and "trick or treating" in-game event. The event, which is currently ongoing until November 1, gives fans a chance to hunt down the scariest Pokemon creatures and collect even more Pokemon Candy! Read on to find out the best way to make the most of the Halloween update and event ongoing now.

First of all, the new "Pokemon GO" update enables gamers to encounter more of those spooky Pokemon creatures, such as Gastly, Drowzee, Gengar, Haunter, Golbat, Hypno, and Zubat. During the currently ongoing event, gamers may find that they're encoutering more iterations of these characters, so don't forget to "catch 'em all." What else can gamers do to make the most out of the Halloween update and event?

From now until November 1, "Pokemon GO" gamers will be able to obtain more Pokemon Candy, Gamespot reports. In fact, gamers will be rewarded with six Pokemon Candies compared to the regular three. Note that these can be obtainable through catching, hatching, or transferring Pokemon creatures. As for Buddy Pokemons, you'll be able to earn Candy four times as fast. You can also evolve your Buddy Pokemon faster this Halloween by up to three times.

In order to make the most out of the Halloween update and event, BGR suggests focusing on Lapras and Snorlax as your Buddy Pokemon. Gamers can also choose to select Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle as their Buddy Pokemon.

In addition, Mic reports that the Halloween update for "Pokemon GO" will enable spawn rates to increase for the "spooky" types of Pokemon mentioned earlier. Note that gamers who capture 200 of Ghost, Psychic, Ground, Flying, Poison and Normal types of Pokemon, you'll get a gold medal for the particular type you captured.
