"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" star Jeremy Irons revealed that the upcoming solo film of "Batman" will begin shooting summer next year. The 68-year-old actor who played Bruce Wayne's right hand, Alfred Pennywoth will have a bigger role in the "Batman" standalone flim.
In an interview with Variety, Jeremy Irons said that Ben Afleck is going to make a "Batman" film next summer. Irons will also be a part of the "Justice League" film that features seven major super heroes however he will only have a short role considering that his character Alfred is only the butler of Batman.
He also gave his insights about playing Batman's butler, Jeremy Irons thought that Alfred Pennyworth is a man who will take care of his boss. One of his inspirations for the famous "Batman" role was going to Paul Getty's house where a gentleman opened the car door for him and parked it somewhere.
Jeremy Irons is not the only one who confirmed about the "Batman" solo flick next year. Previously, it was confirmed that "Magic Mike" star Joe Manganiello will play the DC villain, Deathstroke, who also revealed that the film will begin shooting early next year.
The "Batman" star was also asked about his reaction to the negative reviews of about "Batman vs Superman", he said that he couldn't care less. Irons also wondered why the press is giving Zack Snyder such a hard time.
Irons was also asked if making bigger films like "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" as fulfilling as the smaller ones. He said "less so" and explained that there is a lot of waiting around and a huge amount of publicity in shooting films like "Batman."
The Oscar winner also gave his love and appreciation to Ben Affleck and Zack Synder. Aside from the "Batman" standalone film, Irons is also back in the Oscar race this year for his movie "The Man Who Knew Infinity".
"Batman" flim's Jerry Irons can also be seen in the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" this December. The "Justice League" movie will hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
