Blizzcon 2016: Hold The Door as Actor and DJ Kristian Nairn Is Playing at the Blizzcon Anniversary Party

He is known as a simpleminded servant of House Stark at Winterfell working in the stables. He was only capable of saying one word - ‘Hodor'.

Hodor came from a phrase "hold the door" in which he kept on saying while having seizures when he was younger. He wasn't able to recover his speech and has never spoken a word except ‘Hodor' until he finally did in the Game of Thrones episode "Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things".

DJ, electronic music producer and actor Kristian Nairn who played the role of Wylis, best known as Hodor in the phenomenal HBO series Game of Thrones is playing at a BlizzCon Party for Blizzard's 25th anniversary and Diablo's 20th anniversary on Friday, November 04 between 8PM and 10PM PT.

Kristian Nairn is a 40 year-old Northern Irish actor and DJ. He stands 6'11 tall who came out in public as gay. In an interview with a Game of Thrones fan site, he stated: "When you talk about 'the gay community,' you are talking about MY community... I AM aware of it yeah, and I think it's really lovely. Again, it's a privilege, and I really mean that."

"My sexuality is a very small part of who I am on the whole, but nonetheless, in this day and age, it's important to stand up and be counted", he added.

Kristian Nairn broke Game of Thrones fans hearts when the character Hodor died in an attempt to save Brandon Stark in one of the series' episodes. Hodor was a gentle soul despite his large size and strength and was a loyal servant to Starks.

GameSpot reported that Kristian Nairn said that he spends "way too much" on gaming. "I've been playing games since the ZX Spectrum, before that I had Atari computers as well. I've always been a gamer," he said. He also has a marketing agreement with the game King of Avalon.
