Rocksteady was the saving grace for the Batman as a video game. Up until "Arkham Asylum" arrived in 2009, there really hadn't been a good Batman game for years. So when we found out that a different studio would be involved in the prequel, it was considerable cause for concern.
For fans maybe, but Rocksteady has nothing but confidence in the studio behind the next Batman, Warner Bros. Montreal. Words of praise were all that former director of the "Arkham" series, Sefton Hill had for the new team, reports CVG.
"Rocksteady is excited to see WB Games Montreal developing the prequel to the Batman Arkham franchise," he says. "We are confident this talented team will craft a fantastic experience, bringing the origins of the Arkhamverse to life."
It's high praise when the director of an acclaimed series is eager to pass the torch. And from what we've seen of the new game so far, I'm more than inclined to agree with Mr. Hill.
"Batman: Arkham Origins" is due on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 this fall. A next-gen version has yet to be announced.
