"Pokemon Sun and Moon" has proved its popularity with pre-selling orders at an impressive number, according to Nintendo. Recently, the upcoming 3DS game's demo gameplay also broke records with over 3.5 million downloads.
Many gamers have been eagerly anticipating the latest installment in the "Pokemon" gaming franchise, "Pokemon Sun and Moon." The Pokemon Company and Game Freak has been aggressive in its promotional activities with the release of various teaser clips that revealed gaming features and Pokemon monsters.
The interest for the new "Pokemon" gaming title soon grew with avid players placing advance orders for "Pokemon Sun and Moon." In a recent presentation meeting for investors, Nintendo identified the upcoming game as its best pre-selling gaming title of all time, Polygon reported.
Held in Japan on Oct. 27, Thursday, the investors' presentation unveiled interesting market insights that proved the game's popularity. Despite not disclosing pre-selling figures, Nintendo described "Pokemon Sun and Moon's" advance order numbers as a "historic milestone."
It appears that the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game has surpassed the company's previous pre-order records for the game's "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" versions. Released in 2014, the said two gaming titles also posted impressive advance order figures.
Apart from the upcoming game's pre-order milestone, Nintendo also revealed the impressive download numbers posted for the game's demo version. More than 3.5 million downloads were made during the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" demo version's first-week release, according to the gaming company.
Meanwhile, Nintendo's president Tatsumi Kimishima commented during the investor's presentation event that "Pokemon Go" has also contributed to the public's increased interest for "Pokemon" games, Gamespot reported. He added, "As Pokemon has been a hot topic recently ... there is fantastic momentum for the release of this latest Pokemon title."
Game developers have also added several new features to the upcoming gaming title to keep old and new players entertained. The said gaming enhancements have transformed the new "Pokemon" 3DS game into an "approachable title" for gamers, according to Kimishima.
