"Battlefield 4", the upcoming first-person shooter from EA DICE, will arrive on Oct. 31. The date was spotted on EA’s official German Facebook page for the game. The page also added the usual information about the game’s supported platforms – Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Unsurprisingly, the post was subsequently pulled.
This is a new development to the release date of “Battlefield 4” after it was “accidentally leaked” last week via Xbox’s official site that the game would be on store shelves on Oct. 29. Needless to say, EA was quick enough to make alterations to that post and removed any information detailing about the game’s arrival.
EA says this about the latest leak on Facebook (the translation is a bit bumpy): “We receive some requests to the 'Battlefield 4' release date, which could be seen on one of the tabs on this page today. It was merely a placeholder date that was published by a technical defect. We apologize for this error. The correct release date you will find on the official Battlefield site.”
What’s weird here is that how can a leak happen twice (of course, with two different dates) but what are the odds of both the leaks being featured on two official pages – Xbox official site and Facebook page?
Another thing to to note here is that the Oct. 29 date could be the North American release date while the Oct. 31 date is the European release.
