One Direction surely made its name as one of the most sought-after boy bands since they have been introduced to "The X Factor: UK". For more than three years, they still warm the hearts of their fans, even if one of them, Zayn Malik, has left the group in 2015 and went for a solo career. Not until the first half of 2016 when Niall Horan, Harry Styles, and Liam Payne have also left the group to start their individual careers as solo artists.
Niall Horan, who left One Direction after Zayn Malik launched his career as a solo performer, recently kicked off his career as a solo artist with the release of his first-ever solo single titled "This Town." It debuted on Vevo with an acoustic vibe in a black-and-white video. He has signed a deal with Capitol Records, along with Liam Payne.
Harry Styles is geared towards multiple directions on his career as he has signed a solo recording contract with Columbia Records, the same record producer for One Direction. E! Online further reports that aside from his singing career, Harry is currently filming Christopher Nolan's World War II drama titled "Dunkirk."
Liam Payne announced last July 21 on his Twitter account that he had signed to Capitol Records as a solo artist. He furthers his tweet by saying, "One Direction will always be my home and family but I'm very excited to see what his chapter brings." MTV reports. However, there are updates about him sealing a North American deal with Republic Records.
But, a surprising move is being made by Louis Tomlinson. Teaming up with Simon Cowell, Louis is seen to be making a girl group version of One Direction!
According to Billboard, Louis had an interview with "X Factor's Xtra Preview," and he mentioned that he "is lucky enough to be working with Simon, who was One Direction's mentor since they have started. We've got a few different projects going on at the moment one of which is we're trying to put a girl band together."
Being an "X Factor" living testimony, with One Direction placing third in the seventh season, Louis returned to the show to become a guest judge this season.
