"Star Wars: Episode 8" is coming in 2017 but Lucasfilm is not very generous when it comes to revealing details about the upcoming movie. But even then, fans who have been following the trilogy of the Star Wars saga have managed to extract information that could be considered as spoilers as well.
So far, the most notable "Star Wars: Episode 8" spoilers include the big reveal on Rey's parentage and return of popular character Yoda. Below are two of the best details that have been going around in the last few months.
Who are Rey's parents?
Fans of "Star Wars" all know Rey but her existence has been a mystery ever since she appeared in the story. In the previous "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," nothing was mentioned about her parents but there was a reference to a family that left her behind. Base on the subtle hint, it is likely that she will turn out to be a relative of some important character in the saga. Viewers are expecting that her real parents will be revealed in "Star Wars: Episode 8."
There is a popular theory that she could be Jyn Erso's daughter but Daisy Ridley, the actress playing Rey, denied this in her previous interview. However, when asked if she could then be a relative of Obi-Wan Kenobi, she told Vulture, "We will see in a year. Just sit tight on that question."
Will Yoda return in "Star Wars: Episode 8?"
In the preceding sequel "The Force Awakens," Yoda appeared briefly in Rey's vision and at one point he was shown hanging out with other dead characters in the afterlife. So, could he somehow come back alive in Episode 8 by changing the story a bit since his body just disappeared when he supposedly died in "Return of the Jedi?"
On Reddit, someone who attended the Star Wars Celebration in Europe shared that one of the stalls featured at the convention was Saving Yoda. She claimed to have overheard a random guy explaining that the original team who is in charge of creating the Yoda puppet have been called to work on Yoda Puppet 8 for the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode 8." Hence, it is likely that Yoda is really returning.
Meanwhile, "Star Wars: Episode 8" is directed by Rian Johnson. It is slated to premiere in theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
