‘Final Fantasy 7 Remake’ Release Date, News & Update: New Battle System Confirmed; More Game Details Coming in February

"Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is expected to feature changes to the original title and the most significant change of them all is the new battle system. It was previously reported that Square Enix already announced that the remake will have an action style gameplay instead of an Active-Time Battle (ATB) game system that players learned to love.

Although fans want the usual ATB system, Square Enix had to make that change to make the title deliver more action. Nevertheless, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is still something fans can enjoy.

As for the plot, there shouldn't be any changes. Since "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is basically a remake as explicitly mentioned in the title, fans shouldn't expect major revisions to the story. Aerith's end is inevitable and Cloud and Sephiroth will face off towards the end. However, the game pace is expected to receive some adjustments.

Meanwhile, the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" release date has yet to be confirmed. But Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura will be in attendance at the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences 2017 (MAGIC) on Feb. 18, 2017, Attack of the Fanboy reported.

Nomura already promised that more details about "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will be announced after the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3," which will be in January. With Nomura's attendance at MAGIC confirmed, it's likely that fans will hear more news about "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" by that time.

For now, Square Enix has been reserved when it comes to giving too many details about "Final Fantasy 7 Remake." Silence from the develop didn't stop some fans from coming up with their own theories - one of which involves multiplayer gaming.

Rumors now suggest that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" could have a multi-player option. Square Enix didn't confirm any of this but it doesn't mean it's not possible.

Multi-player modes in RPG games have increased in popularity so it won't be much of a surprise if the remake has it too. Keep up with the latest "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" news by staying tuned to GamenGuide.
