WWE SmackDown on Oct. 25, 2016 started with a glimpse of the previous week's events. Dean Ambrose and James Ellsworth were talking backstage. Ellsworth reportedly wants to side with Dean when he fights WWE World Champion AJ Styles. WWE SmackDown followed live from Green Bay with JBL, Mauro Ranallo and David Otunga.
PWMania reported that the first WWE SmackDown October 25 event was a DQ match between Kane and Bray Wyatt. The exchanged blows and slams, with Kane destroying the announcers table at one point. The lights went out temporarily.
When they turned back on, Luke Harper was on top of the announcers table and attacked Kane. Later, Randy Orton arrived to ward off Harper. Orton subsequently crushed Kane with an RKO, followed by Wyatt who pinned him for the win. Harper entered the ring and stood with Wyatt.
Forbes wrote that WWE SmackDown October 25, the Survivor Series Qualifying Match between The Ascension and The Hype Bros followed. Zack Ryder and Viktor started the fight, with Konnor and Mojo providing various distractions along the way.
Later, Mojo sent Konnor into the ring post but Viktor attacked him from behind. Ryder evaded a move and they executed the Hype Ryder to seal the win. The Hype Bros will represent SmackDown in the 5 team vs. 5 team Traditional Elimination Match in November.
A match at WWE SmackDown happened between Nikki Bella and Natalya followed. The two exchanged signature moves and showcased their versatility. At one point, Natalya had Nikki in a Michinoku Driver for a count of two.
Natalya did an inverted surfboard on Nikki, who managed to escape. Finally, Nikki executed John Cena's STF to win the match and become Team Captain at Survivor Series.
The WWE SmackDown Tag Team Title Match was also featured between The Spirit Squad and Rhyno and Heath Slater. Rhyno nailed Mikey with a Gore to win the fight. One scene in WWE SmackDown featured all three winners celebrating their Survivor Series qualifications.
The last WWE SmackDown battle between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles happened, with James Ellsworth. The battle involved a lot of drops, counters and jumps. The match was called in favor of AJ Styles after Ellsworth dropped him with No Chin Music. Ambrose begged the referee but the latter's decision in WWE SmackDown remained unchanged.
