An exciting round of "Overwatch" gameplay is up ahead with the recent announcement of the game's Competitive Play Season 3 to commence next month. In addition, Blizzard is said to be mulling tweaks to some of the "Overwatch" characters.
'Overwatch' Gameplay - Shorter Downtime Between Seasons In Competitive Play
In a recent post at Battle.net, principal designer Scott Mercer announced the start of the "Overwatch" Competitive Play Season 3, which will happen on December 1, 2016. According to Mercer, there will be only a one week gap between seasons as the second Competitive Play just ended last November 24. 2016.
'Overwatch Gameplay - Changes In The Coming Competitive Play Season 3
In addition, Scott Mercer detailed some of the changes to expect in the coming season. Gamers can expect changes as far as Skill Rating and Skill Tier placement is concerned in "Overwatch" Competitive Play Season 3.
Blizzard wants to present the fairest match possible between teams to have a thoroughly enjoyable "Overwatch" gameplay. One of the main complaints in the Competitive Play Season 2 was that there were players with high Skill Rating but as the season progressed, experienced a drop in their Skill Rating (SR), which can be discouraging.
But rather than wiping out every one's SR in the coming "Overwatch" Competitive Play Season 3 for a fresh start, Blizzard opted for a different approach. Mercer revealed that most players would probably notice a lowered SR rating at the start of this season, probably as a result of the changes on how the SR is to be computed. However, Mercer assures that this SR would more or less stay the same throughout the season, as opposed to the erratic fluctuations experienced by some players last season.
Blizzard Mulls Tweaks To Some 'Overwatch' Characters
In addition, Blizzard is currently considering making changes to some "Overwatch" Characters. One of these characters is Symmetra, which many feel to be too situational and needs to be buffed, reports Tech Mic.
Symmetra is one of the least played "Overwatch" characters. Some blame her extremely close ranged attacks as a turn off while other players want her to have some healing effect.
At the moment, it still remains to be seen what tweaks Blizzard my implement in the future. Be sure to stay tuned to GamenGuide for "Overwatch" gameplay news and updates.
