"Agents of Shield" fans may finally see Phil Coulson and Melinda May getting into a romantic relationship in the upcoming episodes. It seemed a farfetched idea but now, the duo's partnership is likely going beyond work.
Speculations started when Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) said that she saw Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) when she died. The high-ranking member of "Agents of Shield" has been heart broken in his past two relationships. Thus, it seems unlikely that he will go into another relationship again.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Clark Gregg revealed that as he was reading the script of "Agents of Shield," he can sense that something is different between Phil Coulson and Melinda May. He cannot put a finger into it, but the duo's relationship seemed to be getting better.
Clark Gregg added that Phil Coulson and Melinda May have been through a lot in their jobs, and perhaps the script is just pointing out that they have become better friends. However, Gregg seemed to notice that their lines in "Agents of Shield" seemed to be a little bit flirty.
However, it could be that Phil Coulson is only curious about Melinda May's plight in "Agents of Shield." She has been affected with the apparitions that Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Radcliffe (John Hannah) had to kill her to be able to restart her brain. Of course, Phil Coulson knows what it is like to die in "The Avengers." So, could it be that he is only interested with May's coming back to life?
That could be a possibility. But Clark Gregg said that in the coming episodes of "Agents of Shield," Phil Coulson and Melinda May will be in a situation where they will realize how much they mean to each other.
Next week, "Agents of Shiled" will turn back time to disclose how Robbie Reyes became a Ghost Rider. Are you excited to see more of Phil Coulson and Melinda May in the upcoming episodes?
