The folks over at Sony's Santa Monica studios having been working on a new patch for the multiplayer component in "God of War: Ascension." They've been working so hard they forgot to tell you about it until now.
"We've been heads down, working on an update which expands our God of War: Ascension multiplayer experience and addresses some key issues our community has helped us identify and diagnose," writes Santa Monica Studios designer Vincent Napoli. The blog post over at US.Playstation.com details all the upcoming changes to the brawler multiplayer, the first of its kind for the "God of War" franchise.
First and foremost on the changes list is an increase to the allegiance level cap from 30 to 40. One new item, one new ultimate magic and two new relics accompany the new levels for each allegiance,
Players will also be able to see their champion statistics from the main menu. Kill/Death rations, of course, but also win percentages and Trial of the Gods statuses are going front and center.
Bug fixes ranging from audio issues to matchmaking optimization and shard unlock issues are all on the way as well with 1.04.
Santa Monica Studios stopped just short of saying when exactly the patch was going out, qualifying 1.04 as in the "final testing and tuning phase," but they did hint at new DLC announcements before the end of the post. Some "brutal new toys" are apparently on the way.
