Currently on its midseason break, "Girls Meets World" only has a few episodes left before the Disney Channel series closes its Season 3 chapter. With the network keeping silent about its plans for the show, many fans have come up with speculations that included Sabrina Carpenter's potential exit and a Season 4 storyline that may be too mature for Disney viewers.
"Girls Meets World" may soon come to an end, according to several reports that hinted Disney's speculated plans not to renew the series. The show is more than halfway through its third season and viewers have seen its cast members such as Carpenter and Rowan Blanchard grow from young child stars to teenage celebrities.
The two actress' characters Maya and Riley also underwent several challenges in the Disney channel's previous seasons. Having developed into teenagers, the two characters now look like young ladies with their own relationship troubles and love interests.
A potential mature storyline may be one of the reasons why Disney has been silent about a "Girls Meets World" Season 4 run. Given the network's kid-friendly content, showing the relationship angst of a love triangle and young ladies growing into adulthood may have prevented Disney from renewing the series. Several reports have speculated that the network may have deemed the said plot line as inappropriate for the said channel.
Meanwhile, Carpenter's current focus on her music career sparked speculations that she may soon leave the Disney series. Several reports highlighted the actress and singer's activities in the music industry that may prevent her from joining "Girls Meets World" Season 4. Carpenter recently launched her album titled "Evolution" and has even started a concert tour to promote the said album.
Carpenter even played an active role in completing the track list for "Evolution" by composing all of its songs. In an earlier interview with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed that her experiences served as her inspiration for the album. She stated, "I want to share [my experiences] because there's other teenagers that are going through the same things, or will go through the same things."
"Girls Meets World" Season 3 will return to the small screens on Nov. 4, Friday. Watch the preview for episode 16 below:
