"Minecraft" is about to get a little bit larger than its eternal expansion with this upcoming update. With customizable crafting phenomena making its way from the PC to consoles, the console version is about to enjoy a couple of features that was once only available on the PC.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the next big "Minecraft" update will add DLC support for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, PS4, PS3, and the PS Vita. These newly released DLC packages will now be compatible for console version owners post this 1.37 update. The patch will also fix some bugs, gameplay issues, and content restriction problems.
The spooky DLC packs will be Halloween themed that is sure to get "Minecraft" players into the holiday spirit. These packs offer players a new mini-game map with a Halloween flavor called the Halloween Battle Map. There will also be skins and aesthetic add-ons that go along with these brand new DLC packs, ranging from mythical creatures, to fantastic beasts, and other unworldly beings.
Players will be able to purchase these "Minecraft" DLC packages as bundles to save a pretty penny. These Halloween DLC bundle packs will package maps, textures, skins, and will add previous DLC content within these bundles. A full list of patch notes can be viewed here.
In other developments, the story-made version of "Minecraft," developed by acclaimed gaming house Telltale, is now free of charge. The catch is it is only free to gamers who have access to a Windows 10 operated PC and only the first episode of the episodic video game will be playable at no cost. As reported by Tech Radar, the full, standalone game, simply titled "Minecraft: Story Mode," retails for around $30, and this deal bypasses that price completely.
Unfortunately, console players and non-Windows users will not be able to access this deal, but it is a nice gesture from Microsoft to let their customers know that they are looking out for them. The new "Minecraft" 1.37 update is set to be available to download sometime this week at the end of October.
