Now that 'SimCity' is working Maxis, the developer, is bringing free items to the game via a sponsorship with the Nissan Leaf. The move follows the game's disastrous launch and subesquent efforts to repair its relationship with gamers.
Starting today, players can download a charging stations that allows Sims to drive Nissan Leafs and charge them at the stations. Placing the charging station in your world will add happiness to nearby businesses. In-game, the Leafs are pollution free.
"Adding the Charging Station will not take power, water or workers away from your city. Zoom in to the streets of cities and players will start seeing a percentage of their Sims from all wealth classes driving the electric vehicles. The Charging Station produces no garbage or sewage as well making it pollution free," EA writes on its forums.
The free pack will be available for six months from April 2. Once downloaded it will be available with your Origin account.
