When “Battlefield 4” was shown at GDC 2013 last week, one of the key details missing was a the release date. Did Microsoft just reveal the highly anticipated release date for the upcoming “Battlefield 4” as October 29, 2013 accidently?
The information was “accidentally leaked” via Xbox’s official site. Unsurprisingly, alterations were made to remove any talk of a release date for EA DICE’s upcoming title.
Given today's date there's a chance Microsoft pulled off an April Fool's jok. However, if that’s the case then why would the company then remove the post as quickly as possible. Wouldn’t Microsoft just let it linger for a while before revealing the joke? Also, if it is an April Fool's joke, it the least funny joke since "Mass Effect 3's" ending.
“Only in Battlefield can players go through a building instead of around it, eject from a jet and take out the enemy mid-free fall, or flip a tank. DICE, a studio of Electronic Arts, announced that Battlefield 4 will arrive on the Xbox 360 on October 29, 2013,” the post read before the changes.
Oct. 29 already has a significant title coming: “Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag” will arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U.
