Rick is a genius yet an alcoholic scientist, after escaping from Federal Galactic Prison, Rick decided to hide in space in order to protect the family. Being in space, Rick is still imprisoned equivalent of a supermax prison in "Rick and Morty" Season 3.
The Federal Government will surely sue Rick after escaping from the prison. His escape is still a big question, particularly to the one who helped him out. GamenGuide relayed it is Morty who helped him out, some suggest Summer, his granddaughter is the one. Mrs. Sanchez, Rick's wife is also teased to appear and help him out in "Rick and Morty" Season 3.
Moreover, according to the Christian Post, Rick's escape in "Rick and Morty" Season 3 is through an insect body, it is hard for him to escape being Rick as the prison is composed of security surveillance cameras and upgrades.
