The MacBook Pro 2016 is a couple of days away with Apple fanatics finally getting the much-clamored refresh that has been held off for several years now. There will be a lot of things different with the MacBook Pro 2016, something coming in 13 and 15-inch variants.

The big discussion tied up to the MacBook Pro 2016 seems to be on the iterated ports. The USB-C ports have gained the distinction of catering to most connectivity options and Apple apparently believes that this includes the MagSafe port.

What is the MagSafe?

What makes the MagSafe port so special? The technology is aided with the use of magnets to make sure that the reversible plug is secure. It makes sure that the connection to the MacBook is safe and avoid ‘cuts’ which could occur when cables are pulled abruptly or by accident, Slash Gear reported.

For folks who have been used to the MagSafe port for their MacBooks, taking out the feature on the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 variants will need some getting used to. But is Apple shutting it out completely?

MagSafe Adapter included or coming?

It is believed that Apple will be offering some kind of adapter to take its place that can coincide with the USB-C ports. There is a chance that the Cupertino company will use some similar technology to the ASAP’s x-connect which could be made easily due to the USB-C’s flexibility and broad coverage of use, Apple Insider reported.

More to that, there is plenty of new features to look forward to such as the mystery OLED touch strip bar which takes the place of the traditional function keys. Other than that, the MacBook Pro 2016 will also come with a Force Touch trackpad, Touch ID and improved graphics display, something which can hopefully aid by an expectedly improved battery.

The MacBook Pro 2016 officially debuts this coming Thursday (October 27, 2016) at the Apple Campus in Cupertino. The event can be followed via live stream here.
