If you've been wondering why "Rise of the Tomb Raider" hasn't been playing as best as you'd want it to, it's because there was a problem with its response time. A new patch for the PlayStation 4 version, which recently came out, of the game fixes that issue -- providing a smoother playing experience.
Digital Foundry reports that this latest patch for "Rise of the Tomb Raider" finally fixes the problem with input lag in the game. Patch 1.04 makes the game more responsive to controls, allowing the combat experience to be even better than it was before. Players can now take better aim, for those who have been noticing issues with it.
However, some players have reported experiencing new crashes after updating the game, but Digital Foundry theorizes that these may be due to network issues. They've also found that "Rise of the Tomb Raider" on Xbox One and PC still suffer from input lag problems, but perhaps not as much as that in the recently-released port for the PlayStation 4.
Other than fixing input lag, the new "Rise of the Tomb Raider" patch also updates the game, making it capable of high-definition 4K video. GameSpot speculates that this fix might be in line with the upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro, which is going to be released by Sony by the end of November 2017. The PS4 Pro provides the 4K capability but is not designed to be a replacement for the original PlayStation 4.
GameSpot gave the PS4 version of the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" a 9/10 in its review earlier this month. This version of the game came out much later than the versions on the other platform. This, too, improves on the first releases, such as the PC version that came out in January, and Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions that came out last November.
