When asked to comment on the unit's potential touchscreen feature, the Nintendo representative declined to divulge details about the Switch's LCD screen. It appears that Nintendo plans to make a second wave of announcements in the coming year to unveil more information about the company's new console.
In other news, with the Nintendo Switch's upcoming release and its unique design, several gaming fans have speculated that it may replace the Nintendo 3DS including the Wii U product line. A reddit thread, as cited by iDigital Times, made mention of Nintendo's plans to phase out its Wii U models in favor of the new Switch.
The said thread also highlighted speculations that Nintendo will develop a new 3DS model to replace the current handheld device. The gaming company is said to reveal the successor to the 3DS unit in a future announcement.
