Fortunately, for those who cannot wait for the third main installment of the series' release, Square-Enix is preparing to reveal one final prologue-type title to set the stage for "Kingdom Hearts 3" titled "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue."
"Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" is being marketed as the final piece to the "Kingdom Hearts 3" puzzle. If reports are to be believed, this may be the most graphically powerful and beautiful offerings from Square-Enix to date. According to Gaming Bolt, there have been rumors circling around the gaming community that the Kingdom Hearts 2.8 will be available to play on 4K resolution on the PS4 Pro.
Many fans have gushed at the authentically beautiful world and level design that the Kingdom Hearts world is known for. The unlikely world shared between the Square-Enix and the Disney universe might just about to be a whole lot more pleasing to the eye. This is mainly because of the rumors that "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" would have 4K resolution was confirmed by game director Tetsuya Nomura, as per Attack of the Fanboy.
In an interview conducted by Japanese publication Dengeki Playstation, Nomura talked briefly about "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" respectively. He shed some light on rumors regarding the resolution of "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" and confirmed that the tie-in will indeed have PS4 Pro support, confirming the access to 4K resolution.
Whether the 4K resolution will be native or an upscale to the game's graphics has yet to be confirmed. However, it is safe to assume that "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" will make the Kingdom Hearts universe look the best it has ever been. Concerning "Kingdom Hearts 3," Nomura remained hush about its respective graphical prowess. Fans should expect more details once "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" releases this coming holiday season in January 2017.
