'Battlefield 1' News and Updates: First Report of Glitch, Blimp-nado

After the release of Battlefield 1 last Oct. 21, it did not take a week before gamers started to experience in-game problems and glitches. The most famous is the crashing and burning of a zeppelin. Videos of the problem made rounds in the internet, gaining wide spread attention from the community.

The glitch starts when the burning and crashing zeppelin hits an approaching plane, just before it hits the ground. Instead of following the laws of physics, the zeppelin spins rapidly and creates a tornado of fire before suddenly disappearing, leaving small graphical traces of its remains, reported by Kotaku. There are more than one report of the glitch and a few more videos have sprung up around the internet making it likely that an average gamer could replicate the glitch in Battlefield 1.

It is not necessary that a player be in the line of sight of the crash in order for the glitch to occur. Flames may suddenly be ravaging in the skies unexpectedly, as seen in some of the Battlefield 1 gameplay videos.

Despite the spread of bad publicity, the developers of Battlefield 1, DICE, has not released a statement regarding the issue and whether or not they are looking into it. It may be possible that they are not aware of the problem. Even game modders are not quite sure what may trigger the glitch. The problem is slowly becoming a nuisance to gamers especially that it sometimes causes the player to die in the game.

Nevertheless, Battlefield 1 received good reviews and feedback scores, almost close to perfect. The game is a long awaited title and deviates from the futuristic approach of some big first person shooter games. It revisits one of the most historical battles, a concept that has long been requested by the gaming community.
