In spite of cancellation rumors, "UnREAL" Season 3 will surely see the light of the day with its newly added showrunner. The American drama series will have a new executive producer with Stacy Rukeyser and now everything is set to start!
The writers' room for "UnREAL" Season 3 is now open in Los Angeles. However, the show's production is yet to start in February 2017. Stacy Rukeyser takes the place of Carol Barbee, who already left the making of the TV series.
"UnREAL" Season 3 will be Stacy Rukeyser's first ever project as a showrunner, as per Deadline. The show's co-creator Marti Noxon employed Rukeyser first as his co-executive producer, then as an executive producer and now as a showrunner.
"Stacy has been an invaluable member of the UnReal creative team since its inception," Barry Jossen, EVP of A+E Studios, which produces the series said. By the looks of it, Lifetime has a great faith to Stacy Rukeyser to handle the coming "UnREAL" Season 3. However, it is not yet known what Sarah Gertrude Shapiro's, the show's original creator, role will be in the production.
Meanwhile, Stacy Rukeyser now has the plan to change the game in "UnREAL" Season 3. In fact, she's now thoroughly examining the mistakes from the previous season, Collider reported. "On the show, the pendulum swings between OMG moments and deeper character moments. Maybe the pendulum swung too far in the plot direction (in Season 2)," she explained.
Evidently, they took a big swing in "UnREAL" Season 2 and it seemed like a lot of things happened in a snap that viewers had a hard time to follow. Hence, they are now eyeing to explore what happened to every character, the "psychological impact" and the truth behind the major events.
Regarding production per se, it has been said that it is taking a lot of time before it starts. But "UnREAL" Season 3 is still expected to come in the summer of 2017.
