According to a tweet from developer 4J, "Minecraft" has managed to sell over an astounding 6 million copies since arriving on XBLA almost a year ago. Not bad for a little sandbox indie game, huh?
Let's go some math real quick. The XBLA version of "Minecraft" goes for 1600 MS points, roughly $20. As of December, the pocket edition was at 5 million downloads. A free version is offered, but let's assume they're referring to the full version, which goes for $6.99. And as of January, PC version sales totaled at nine million, at $26.95 a pop.
Multiply the sales, adjust for inflation, carry the one, lawer's fees, and...
$385 million grossed. Guess that explains the Mojang office then.
