"Arrow" Season 5 is currently airing on the CW but three episodes into the season, fans are still hard-pressed to come up with the identity of this season's main villain. Fortunately, there is an interesting theory floating around as to who is the person behind the baddie Prometheus.
'Arrow' Season 5 Villain Prometheus Speculations
There are those who believe that the "Arrow" Season 5 villain Prometheus could be none other than Tommy Merlyn, reports Comic Book. For long time fans of the series, yes, the name should sound strangely familiar as he has already been featured in the past.
Tommy Merlyn was actually Oliver Queen's best friend in the first season. However, upon discovering Oliver's secret identity, he became distant, probably partly out of jealously that Oliver was still dating Laurel at that time, his ex girlfriend. He even wished that Oliver had died back at the island at one time. This hatred certainly coincides with the reveal that the "Arrow" Season 5 villain Prometheus would have a deep-seated grudge against Oliver/Green Arrow as well.
The main problem with this theory is that Tommy Merlyn died at the finale of the first season in a brave and heroic act of saving Laurel. But fans are quick to point out that death does not always mean the end in most superheroes storylines. Tommy's death in the first season should not be too much of a hindrance if showrunners decided to use the character for "Arrow" Season 5.
For Tommy to come back to the "Arrow" Season 5 storyline, two possible options have been suggested. With the recent Flashpoint story, showrunners can basically choose any story that they want to alter. In addition, there is always that Lazarus Pit which can even revive a corpse as in the case of Sara Lance.
'Arrow' Season 5 Introduces New Villain In Episode 7?
In addition, a new "Arrow" Season 5 villain is likewise headed to the small screens. The coming episode 7 this season will deal more about Adrian Chase, reports Screen Rant.
Actor Josh Segarra joins the "Arrow" Season 5 cast as Adrian Chase. While some believe that Adrian Chase is Oliver Queen's ally, there are those who believe that the two characters will indeed become friends, initially that is.
However, his friendly demeanor may just be a mask to hide the rage he feels inside. And it has already been revealed that Adrian Chase will soon become Vigilante. If he indeed becomes Oliver's enemy, it would be interesting to see what will push him over in the coming "Arrow" Season 5 episodes.
