Undeniably, "True Detective" has been one of the best crime drama TV series HBO ever has. The show's first season was impeccably great, but the second one had poor ratings. Hence, many believe that the program's last stint affected the next "True Detective" Season 3 as a lot still wonders if it will be seen on the small screen.
According to HBO Binge, "True Detective" helped Matthew McConaughey's acting career soar up high again and also made director Cary Fukunaga known. It, too, became Nic Pizzolatto's greatest work. After more than a year that the second season concluded, isn't it the best time fans should witness "True Detective" Season 3?
Giving the network the credit, HBO still considers creating the new "True Detective" Season 3. This is mainly because the show has been one of the major TV series before and became an "incredible hit." But unfortunately, the previous season didn't surpass its first chapter as it hasn't had the right time to develop before it was shown.
Although it is very unlikely that "True Detective" Season 3 will be aired this year, 2017 might be the right time that it will be revealed. As of the moment, HBO has no crime show on its list in the coming summer, so it is expected that it will soon come our way.
In fact, HBO new programming president Casey Bloys asserted that "True Detective" Season 3 will surely come. This is in spite of the "critical consensus" of its previous season and Nic Pizzolatto's busy schedule for doing another project with Robert Downey Jr.
Casey Bloys insisted that Nic Pizzolatto and HBO are still interested in creating "True Detective" Season 3. However, as the 41-year-old showrunner is too occupied at the moment, it looks like the TV series will have a new screenwriter. But, he will surely stay to supervise the show that he first started. HBO hasn't announced the coming of "True Detective" Season 3 on the small screen as yet.
