Humans dream of flying but it seems an impossible feat in the real world. However, Ubisoft has found a way to make the impossible possible and finally it make its VR debut on Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR for the game called "Eagle Flight".
"Eagle Flight" is set in post-apocalyptic Paris where nature reclaims the city and humans became extinct. You enter the game as an eagle who has to protect your territory from other animals who live in the vast city. There are three basic modes: campaign, competitive multiplayer mode and free flight.
In campaign mode, there are a series of missions that players should accomplish such as to learn how to fly, search for a mate, expand a territory and defend the territory from bats, crows and other contenders. The competitive multiplayer mode allows teams of at most three players to grab and return their prey to their nest before their enemies act first. There are larger matches that require teamwork because there is a need to shriek at rivals while dodging through ruined streets of Paris.
The free flight mode of "Eagle Flight" can allow players to revel in the sensation with its intuitive control scheme. According to a review in Roadtovr, the head titling comes very naturally with its navigation though a controller is still needed to maneuver the speed and to use the weapons during combat.
A separte review published in Kotaku notes that a multiplayer mode may not be possible for now due to a small player base. However, this may change when "Eagle Flight" is released for other consoles like PlayStation VR or the Vive later this year.
