Owing to the long wait, fans and followers of "A Song of Fire and Ice" have patiently waited for George RR Martin and his own timeline to pen the sequel. With the rumors of Martin turning hostile, worry is lurking in the corner for the avid followers.
However, despite the speculations, there has been no word of confirmation that "Winds of Winter" would never be penned. Even the notion of George RR Martin being hostile was debunked as well. Nonetheless, it is undeniable that the author of "A Song of Fire and Ice" is currently packed with varying projects and he has no ample time and proper setting to write the sequel.

Also, this is not the first time that George RR Martin was tagged in a rumor. In fact, GamenGuide reported of some debunked rumors of the author in the past. According to the report, there are rumors that "Winds of Winter" and its storyline would be revamped and many are also excited that George RR Martin would pen a new storyline that would shift the entire storyline for the sequel of "A Song of Fire and Ice," but that remains to be seen.
