All eyes are on the MacBook Pro 2016 which is expected to come out on Oct. 27 at the Apple Campus is Cupertino. Apple is likely to end the year with its MacBook line meaning any hope to see tablets like the iPad Mini 5 may very well be saved for the first quarter of 2017 at the earliest.
As mentioned in a previous post, Apple is expected to start 2017 with its refreshed line of tablets. This will be led by the iPad Pro 2 which will come in three variants. That includes and iPad Pro 2 in 7.9, 10.5 and 12.9-inch variants. Of the mix, there are rumors that the actual 7.9-inch will be the iPad Mini 5.
If that is the case, then the 10.5-inch variant could be the next option for consumers, leaving the biggest (12.9-inch iPad Pro) as a potential solution for the commercial and educational sector. So does it follow that the iPad Mini 5 is the cheapest and most sensible to get?
Running down the specs, it seems to indicate such. Among the rumored features of the iPad Mini 5 include a thinner overall mold, an A10 chipset, 2 GB of RAM, and internal storage starting at 16 GB. 64 and/or 128 GB options are also expected to be offered, Mashable reported.
Speaking of the iPad Mini 5’s potential thin mold, the debate on the 3.5 mm carries on. Seeing how Apple took it out to make the iPhone 7/7 Plus thinner, the final verdict on whether it would be retained or not is still unclear, JBH reported.
Other features worth mentioning for the iPad Mini 5 include an 8 MP main camera, 1.2 MP front-facing shooter and possibly iOS 11 in the event that Apple does release it in time for 2017. With so much to digest, Apple has an alibi in the MacBook Pro 2016. Come November however, Apple will be under the radar once more, this time pestered with its plans for the iPad line.
