Bioware says its first digital expansion for the developer’s popular MMO “Star Wars: The Old Republic is coming April 14.
The expansion, known as "Rise Of the Hutt Cartel," will put the players on new planet called Makeb. There they must join forces and put a stop to the despicable activities of the Hutts.
The upcoming expansion will offer a new storyline with new quests, and a highly anticipated level-cap increase which now sits at Lvl 55 instead of 50, where players can expect to progress via story-driven missions. The expansion includes update 2.0 for the main client.
Bioware states that players who pre-order the "Rise of the Hutt Cartel" expansion will receive an exclusive Title, Holostatue, and Mini-Pet at launch. The details are below:
The Dr. Oggurobb Hutt Holostatue: Players get to train under the well-known Hutt scientist Dr. Oggurobb with this cool portable training device that he created in his own image.
Scourge of the Hutts Title: The most feared and revered Republic and Imperial forces across the galaxy adorn this title.
The Makrin Seedling Mini-Pet: Players can have their very own Makrin Creeper to follow them around and "creep" out the enemies. The mini-pet possesses bark-like skin and grass-like nerve-rich tissues that blend in perfectly with Makeb’s environment. Moreover, as added incentive, the Makrin Creeper has a distinctive and uncanny look.
Because “The Old Republic” went free-to-play last year, there will be several restrictions on the players who aren't paying subscribers.
For non-subscribers the expansion will be $20 while subscribers can get it for $10.
Those who have pre-ordered the game before Jan. 7 get a five-day head start starting April 9.
