'Minecraft' Guidebook For Kids Due To Arrive This September

UK publisher Egmont will release four Minecraft books this September, aimed at kids, Develop reports. The books will function as guidebooks of a sort.

"We knew whatever we created needed to be fun, informative and centre on the Minecraft community," says Egmont licensing division MD Sarah Bates. "The fans are extremely important to us and we want our publishing to both feed their thirst for gaming knowledge through an engaging reading experience, whilst also offer exclusive content from the developers which they can't get online."

Four books so far are slated for release: "The Beginner's Handbook," "The Redstone Handbook" (they'll need it with the new update), "The Combat Handbook" and "The Construction Handbook." The publisher also plans for a Minecraft Annual publication, a poster book, and magazine called "All About Minecraft."

I'll admit that Redstone can be a bit difficult to work with at times, but isn't that part of the fun? You get a feeling of accomplishment learning to do or build something by yourself that you just can't recreate when you do it based off of a guidebook in a manual. A great many Minecrafters so far have done some truly incredible things with little more than their ingenuity and a lot of spare time.

Fans who feel differently will at least have the option open to them come September. The publishing deal covers all territories outside of the US.
