"Winds of Winter" 2017 release date of the book, which is expected to be in March, will not only be delayed but officially cancelled. The rumored reason behind is that the author George R.R. Martin lost the manuscript that he had worked on for years now. The promised book debut prior to the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premiere in June 2017 is not going to happen.
For this reason, Martin asked for more time to complete his "Winds of Winter" work for the newest installment of the legendary "A Song of Ice and Fire." Martin asked his publisher to reschedule the "Winds of Winter" release in 2018 or long after "Game of Thrones" Season 7 has been all done. Previous reports claimed that Martin and showrunners of "Game of Thrones" David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will base the remaining "Game of Thrones" seasons on the latest book, Chattsportsnet reported.
However, if the "Winds of Winter" rumors are true that Martin has lost possession of the manuscript, then the author will have to start all over again and it means a lot much longer of waiting for the book release. But most reports have considered this as still rumors, believing that there is a backup copy of the manuscript on a remote server, according to a report.
Meanwhile, fans believed that "Winds of Winter" is the longest book of the fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by the said author so it took him a long time to cover up the whole book. While fans have been patiently waiting for the sixth book, there is a new twist of the story. Reports revealed that the seventh book entitled "A Dream of Spring" is also ready on the cards and the author is working on it as well.
"Winds of Winter" 2017 release date may be cancelled but there reports comforts fans not to believe in rumors and said that Martin will release the seventh book alongside with it. Avid fans of Martin are all used to his slow and painstaking pace in writing so this delay is not new to them. It is not yet sure that the book(s) will be released in 2018 but fans should wait for further notices. Watch video about "Game of Thrones" Publisher Denies Winds of Winter Release Date Rumor here:
