Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' recently released "Tomb Raider" reboot flew off the shelves and found great critical praise. It's a bona fide hit, so when Square Enix files to trademark "Tomb Raider: Reflections" with the US Patent and Trademark office, we pay attention.
Gameinformer got the hint from website Siliconera.
A number of possibilities for the trademark pop up, most notably for a true sequel to the reboot. It could also be that Square Enix is preparing for anything, trademarking any semblance of an idea for future "Tomb Raider" media. Companies do that too.
As for potential DLC for the currently released title, we reported that Crystal Dynamics is only working on the multiplayer kind, leaving single player as is. I don't know about you, but "Reflections" does not sound like multiplayer-specific dlc, unless it has something to do with water-based maps. Is Laura Croft going swimming sometimes soon?
Either way, for all we know this could be an animated short or a full length film, Square Enix just wants to lock down the title for something. Anything. Please be a game.
