After being suspiciously missing in season 7A, one character will be returning to the show and this could mean a lot for the show's plot. It has been reported that Torrey Devitto, who plays Melissa Hastings on "Pretty Little Liars," will be returning to the show for Season 7B.
This news was first revealed on The Hollywood Reporter, which said that the "Chicago Med" star will be reprising her role as Melissa in the Freeform the final season of "Pretty Little Liars." It is also said that this can mean that a family reunion could be seen in the show's final season, but it might not be a happy one.
Melissa Hastings was last sighted on "Pretty Little Liars" in the second half of Season 6 as a suspect in the murder of Charlotte (Vanessa Ray). Although her participation in the crime had never been confirmed, she immediately fled Rosewood because of some alleged threats that she had been receiving from the villain and has not been seen on the show since then.
Her former flame, Wren Kingston (Julian Morris), will also be seen again in the show as confirmed by executive producer Charlie Craig. His participation will be part of what Craig called as the final twist in the final episode of "Pretty Little Liars."
Bustle reports that viewers would get to see Wren, Jenna, Paige, Lucas, Charlotte and Melissa all reunite for season 7B. Although Charlotte is already dead by the timeline, Vanessa Ray who plays the character, has already confirmed that she will be reappearing in "Pretty Little Liars" probably in a flashback scene or some other manner.
The announcement of Melissa's return in "Pretty Little Liars" Season 7B, however, could mean something as there could be a bigger reason for her comeback after her sudden disappearance. She probably has something to do with the "ultimate final twist" which Craig had talked about earlier.
Since Wren has been confirmed to return to "Pretty Little Liars," this could mean that Melissa could have something big to do with that final twist, too. At one point, both were heavily involved with one another. Whatever the production team has in store and, however, events in the show unfold can only be known by viewers once the episode airs.
