Nintendo's Wii U is clinging for dear life, and will need some exclusive features, as well as games, if it's going to make it's last stand. But I don't think this is gonna cut it.
Capcom revealed some exclusive features for the Wii U version of "Resident Evil: Revelations" via a press release it sent out, citing some of the console's features courtesy of their tablet controller.
"Wii U players will be able to take advantage of the unique features of that system with three different styles of play. Using the screen on the GamePad players can quickly access their map and weapons, or switch the GamePad out for a Wii U pro controller. Alternatively, players are able to transfer all the horror to the GamePad as the title utilizes Off TV play."
Off TV play is always good, but I'm getting a bit tired of companies using the GamePad solely for item management, maps, and so on. Where's the creativity? However, there is something interesting...
"The Miiverse feature will offer Wii U players further exclusives. Players can post a dying message on the Game Over screen for other players around the world to see. The 'Creatures Voice' function allows players to personalize the thoughts of enemies in Raid Mode to taunt their friends."
Yep, that's all we need. You're about to be done in by an Ooze creature, or a Farfarello, when a text penis pops up in a speech bubble over the object of your demise. It's teabagging for survival horror. Ah yes, nothing like an omnipresent troll.
As far as new enemies go, Capcom shed a bit of light on at least one, with the lovely moniker of "Wall Blister." With a name like that, you don't need to use your imagination to grasp what this gob of goo will be like. Another new enemy is planned for players to encounter once they reach a certain level, but Capcom has yet to divulge any additional information about either enemy.
"Resident Evil: Revelations" will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U in the US on May 21, and Europe on May 24.
