Ubisoft's third-person shooter game "The Division" should have received the latest paid expansion, titled "Survival" by this time, but it turns out that fans will need to wait further for this new downloadable content. Although the game studio launched the game successfully early this year, fans started to notice that there had been several glitches that affected the overall gaming experience. "Survival" DLC was initially scheduled to release last summer, but apparently this didn't happen as Ubisoft shifted its focus on fixing the game problems.
Ubisoft already announced an upcoming Update 1.4 for "The Division," which will bring fixes for bugs and glitches, update the base game, and change the difficulty of enemies, among others. Overall, the new game update intends to improve the "the core gameplay experience," as stated in Ubisoft's earlier blog post. It was stated that the update is expected to rollout sometime this month. It's already halfway through October but fans still continue to wait for Update 1.4.
It was also implied that "The Division" second DLC's release date will be pushed to late 2016 and it will come out independently from the game update, as opposed to being rolled out simultaneously. It remains unclear when this will really happen as the studio hasn't announced anything specific just yet. With that said, it is assumed that "Survival" DLC will be out shortly after Update 1.4's arrival.
Given that "The Division: Survival" comes out sometime in November, it would be an unfortunate waiting game for PS4 owners as the exclusive deal between Ubisoft and Microsoft dictates only Xbox One owners and PC players have same-day access to the DLC. This could mean that "Survival" could come out in January 2017 for PS4 owners.
As for details of the new DLC for "The Division," it is speculated that there will be a new mission type for players to experience. This could mean that a team of players might engage in battle against more difficult enemies. As of the moment, fans continue to wait for more updates on the release of Update 1.4 and then of "Survival."
