“Metro: Last Light” is one of the highly anticipated titles of this year with its gripping and apocalyptic storyline.
The upcoming first-person shooter from 4A Games gets a new trailer called ‘Salvation’ that gives even more insight into the world of the game's future and humanity’s role in it. When the world is facing a cataclysmic situation, civilization is bound to go out of the window, and the trailer focuses on that.
The new trailer points toward a gloomy and threatening future for what is left of humanity and its everlasting struggle for survival. The future is obviously grim and the world is cursed. The narrator states that “when time runs out, we seem to forget everything we learnt.”
While gamers already dealt with the horde of mutants in the previous “Metro 2033,” let's not forget about the underground Nazis. These guys are back in full force for “Metro: Last Light.” The trailer also focuses on a disturbingly well-equipped subterranean army training (probably to fight Artyom), and shows how the quest for dominance with greed ruling the destiny of man has eventually impacted man himself.
“Humanity is too blind to see where salvation lies,” the narrator concludes. “It is written that the devastation we brought upon ourselves will eat us alive and history will repeat itself. Unless our destiny lies within another.”
“Metro: Last Light” is currently set for release in May 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
