Samsung Gear S3 Classic and Samsung Gear S3 Frontier smartwatches are expected to be available from November and pre-orders have already started on Best Buy Canada website. Fans in fact got a glimpse of the smartwatches at the IFA 2016.
Best Buy Canada has listed the release of the smartwatches and they will be made available from Nov. 18. Tech enthusiasts who simply cannot wait to get their hands on the devices can pre-order now from the Best Buy Canada website. Both the Samsung Gear S3 Classic and Frontier have been listed for $469.99 CAD (approximately $358). Inputting a coupon code during checkout reduced the price by 10 percent. The products may start shipping from Nov. 19, a day later they are released. There may be a delay though.
The pre-order on the Best Buy Canada website is for online purchase only. It is not possible to reserve a unit and collect it later from a Best Buy Canada store. Samsung Gear S3 would feature 4G LTE connectivity and NFC that would allow users to make payments via Samsung Pay. However, the pre-order variants may not have this feature, writes The Bitbag.
Needless to say, fans are pretty excited about Samsung Gear S3 release as the watches are expected to boast some amazing specs. The Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch has a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display with Corning's new Gorilla Glass SR+. The Classic version has a more streamlined design with a 12.9mm thickness.
The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier has a similar thickness but has a more sporty design. Both the devices are IP68 certified and is therefore water and dust-resistant. They have an optical heart-rate sensor, 768MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.
The Samsung Gear S3 smartwatches run on Tizen 2.3.2 OS. Their dual-core CPUs are clocked at 1.0GHz and the watches have GPS and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. The two devices sport a 380mAh battery. The devices reportedly last up to three to four days on a single charge. Wireless charging is also enabled.
