"Pokemon Go" Gen 2 is still in development, but players are already looking forward to the new content. Many expect that "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 will feature unique Pokemon, particularly through new evolutions and the introduction of Legendaries.
A French website reported that Niantic Labs is believed to be planning an event that will allow "Pokemon Go" players to catch Legendary Birds in the wild. Soon, Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos may be available in the wild and become playable creatures in the mobile game.
Niantic Labs is allegedly asking $3,300 from potential business who wish to house special "Pokemon Go" virtual stops that host legendary Pokemon. Elector, Mew, Mewtwo and the Legendary birds may appear in the paid locations, which will draw more customers to the featured establishments.
Forbes stated that there are number of effective ways to introduce the Legendary birds in "Pokemon Go." One method involves timed events that will bring players together to famous landmarks around the world where they can try to catch the rare creatures together.
It would also be ideal to tie the three birds to the in-game teams that correspond to each, namely Valor, Instinct and Mystic. Teams around the world can work together to take over gyms until a related Legendary is spawned. "Pokemon Go" may also combine the traditional approaches of walking, capturing Pokemon in the wild, hatching eggs and battling in gyms to eventually produce a Legendary bird.
A number of Gen 1 Pokemon may also gain evolutions when "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 releases. It was previously revealed that Gloom can evolve into Bellossom, Golbat into Crobat, Poliwhirl into Politoed, Evee into either Umbreon or Espeon, Porygon into Porygon 2, and Chansey into Blissey, among others.
There are also rumors that Ditto may be unlocked in an Easter egg soon. There are also talks that "Pokemon Go" will feature PvP battles before the end of 2016. Niantic Labs has yet to announce the official launch date of "Pokemon Go" Gen 2, but there are rumors that it may become available in March 2017.
