Netflix recently featured the official key art for "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life." The revival will comprise of four parts - one for each season and lasting 90 minutes, respectively. Each seasonal installment of is represented by a poster, representing winter, spring, summer and fall.
TVLine reported that according to Amy Sherman-Palladion, the creator of "Gilmore Girls," the revived show will be about three women at a crossroads in each of their lives. She is very pleased with all four episodes and feel like they accomplished what they set out to do. "
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" star Lauren Graham also said that the new episodes is the most favorite thing that she has ever done. E! Online stated that "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" is a revival of "Gilmore Girls," which aired from 2000 to 2007.
Lauren Graham and onscreen daughter Alexis Bledel will reprise their roles in "Gilmore Girls: A Day in the Life" as Lorelai Gilmore and Rory Gilmore. In the reunion show, Lorelai and Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) reunited and Rory is struggling with her career. Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop) and the girls are dealing with the sudden death of Richard Gilmore (Edward Herrmann).
Other returning cast members include Sookie St. James (Melissa McCarthy), Lane Kim (Keiko Agena), Kirk Gleason (Sean Gunn), Michel Gerard (YanicTruesdale), Paris Geller (Liza Weil), and Dean Forester (Jared Padalecki). Doyle McMaster (Danny Strong), Logan Huntzberger (Danny Strong) and Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) will also be returning for "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life."
It will be interesting to see the dynamics among characters in "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" after a decade. Lauren Graham said that Lorelai and Luke will be together in the new show and figuring out their next move. She teased that they had chemistry and some really intense adult scenes.
The death of Richard will also affect the "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" plot and all relationships in some way. Each episode lasts 90 minutes, so they were able to show more detail and add depth to the story. Each one will be more of a film than a TV show. "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" will launch on Nov. 25, 2016 on Netflix.
