Flickr is evolving with time, and this time it will be the iOS-based users who will reap the fruit with a brand new update heading their way.
Flickr is pushing out a brand new update for its refurbished iPhone app that brings a significant new official feature – official support for hashtags – that will captivate a lot of users.
“Hashtags! Add a hashtag in your photo's title or description, tap on the hashtag and instantly see all photos with that hashtag,” the official page states.
Apart from this, the app is now also offering the option to add #FlickrFriday to the user’s photo and instantly participate in Flickr's weekly photo challenge, whose details state: “We will publish our weekly theme every Friday. You'll then have the whole weekend to take your shot and share it with us in the group pool. Don't forget to add the ‘Flickr Friday’ and weekly theme tags to your photo.”
“We will feature a selection of the most amazing submissions on FlickrBlog the following week.”
The new version of the app is build 2.11.820 and is a download weighing in at 20.5 MB. The application is also available in multiple languages including English, Chinese, French, Spanish, German, and many more.
Although the app is compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, many users have complained that there is no iPad native version of the application.
Moreover, the new build of the app is also optimized for the iPhone 5, and apart from the new updated features, it also offers, as expected, fixes for various bugs some users may have experienced in the past.
The Yahoo-owned, photo-based social network currently boasts more than six billion photos.
