Fans are definitely excited to learn that director James Gunn has big plans for Nebula, who is expected to join the good guys in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". The news was immediately met with several speculations on who will appear alongside the cyborg assassin in her own solo movie.
Will Karen Gillan get to work with her "Doctor Who" costar Matt Smith? And will the "GotGV2" spinoff focus on Nebula's origin story?
James Gunn Admits Thinking About 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Spinoff Movie Starring Nebula
One of the best things about the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director is love of answering fan questions as often as he can. James Gunn was recently asked on Twitter whether it is time for Nebula to have her own solo movie.
The filmmaker's response was definitely agreeable as he admitted that he thought about the possibility "from the beginning." But is there any chance that the world will get to know more about Karen Gillan's "Guardians of the Galaxy" character sooner than expected?
I have a few favorites myself, but I agree that Nebula should lead her own film - it's something I've thought about from the beginning. https://t.co/lyPAA6Hyxw

There is no confirmation just yet that the Nebula solo movie will happen anytime soon although Karen Gillan loved the idea (via Twitter). However, people are already busy fancasting Gillan's possible co-stars in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2".
There is hope that one actor who would join the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" spinoff would be Matt Smith, who played the Eleventh Doctor in "Doctor Who". It certainly sounds like fans of the TV series are eager to see Amy Pond reunite with Eleven in a fun Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
@JamesGunn @buddhamus I support this notion!!!

Will James Gunn Work On 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Spinoff, Focus On Nebula's Origin Story?
As mentioned, James Gunn hasn't confirmed anything just yet but the Nebula solo movie seems to be an idea that fans can get behind. It would be interesting to see how Karen Gillan's blue alien first dealt with adoptive sister Gamora and why she grew up to dislike Thanos so much.
